On a sunny weekend in June 2019 the „Artistic Glass Studio Borowski“ in Königswinter (near Bonn) opened their gallery and park for visitors of their summer party. The Borowski family is internationally known for their hand blown and hand crafted colourful and vivid glass objects and precious sculptures. On a walk through the lovely park the friendly glass figures and characters presented themselves as “fabulous” creatures full of a very special magic.
Magdalena & Wiktor Borowski together with Mary John Kamp (second lady from the right), her Nepalese friend Ramesh and her friends offered their guests refreshments, delicious homemade cakes and snacks for the benefit of a Nepalese widow who lost her husband during the dreadful earthquakes in 2015. Presently she lives under a plastic tarpaulin together with her three children. All donations will be spent to build a small house for this Nepalese family. In 2015 after the earthquake catastrophe in Nepal Mary-John Kamp and her friends wanted to help significantly. Mary John founded a private initiative to collect money for the reconstruction of three damaged villages. In the meantime, the group was able to buy food, medicine, school supply and tents. …and the first new house is finished!
To answer the question: “What would you do if you could carry the earth in your hands?” Mary John surely would say: “Don’t hesitate, get active together with your friends and help!”
